Dr. Robert Smink Portrait Unveiling Reception

On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, Lankenau Medical Center celebrated the remarkable career of retired Chief of Surgery, Dr. Robert Smink, and unveiled his beautiful portrait, commissioned to honor his legacy at Lankenau. The portrait will hang in Lankenau’s Frankel Lobby for six months before it moves to its permanent location among other notable Lankenau surgeons on the fourth floor of the hospital.

The Bobbi Brodsky Art Reception

On Thursday, November 14, 2019, physicians, staff and friends came together to honor one of Lankenau’s most generous and longtime supporters, Bobbi Brodsky. In recognition of her incredible philanthropy, Lankenau commissioned a one-of-a-kind mural by artist Jonathan Mandell; this extraordinary piece is located on the hospital level of the Heart Pavilion near the Brodsky Bridge.

John D. Lankenau Society Reception

Lankenau Medical Center celebrated the John D. Lankenau Society Members on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at FMC Tower at Cira Centre South. Guests were treated to a cocktail reception that featured panoramic city views. The John D. Lankenau Society is comprised of loyal donors that give $1,000 or more to various programs, initiatives and research at Lankenau.

Casper Family Art Reception

The reception was on Monday, June 24, 2019, held in the Casper Gallery at Lankenau Heart Institute and the Brodsky Bridge. Howard and Nancy Casper attended the Casper Art reception celebrating their generous donation of artwork to Lankenau Medical Center. These pieces join a previous contribution of artwork and were installed in the hallway between the Frankel Lobby and Heart Pavilion.

The 1860 Society

The 1860 Society event took place at Savona Restaurant in Gulph Mills on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. The 1860 Society was established in 2013 to recognize our physicians and scientists making a significant personal philanthropic commitment to Lankenau.

Impact Investors

On Wednesday, Wednesday, May 8, 2019 Lankenau Medical Center hosted our bi-annual event for “Impact Investors” that have generously donated more than $80,000 during their lifetime. The event took place at Main & Vine in Villanova, Pa. and featured remarks by Dr. John Marks highlighting his work with the single port robot.

Paint the Town Red

Held on Thursday, April 25, 2019, more than 175 guests enjoyed flora and fashion at Terrain at Devon Yard. Chaired by Lankenau Medical Center Board Member Carol Cutler, the event also featured remarks by Lankenau Cardiologist Maribel Hernandez, MD. This annual event raises funds for the Women’s Heart Initiative.

Marks Art Exhibit

Lankenau Medical Center hosted an art exhibit on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 to demonstrate the fusion of art and surgical innovation. The featured artist, Gerald Marks, MD, colorectal surgery, professor and chairman, Marks Colorectal Surgical Foundation, is known for his colorectal surgical pioneering, and also for his watercolor paintings that chronicle his international travels.
