Designed to help the many families whose newborns require supplementation within the first week of life, Main Line Health has implemented a bridge milk program to ensure that, while mother's own milk production is being established, donor milk can fill any nutritional or supply gaps, when medically indicated.
Knowing that this initiative can be even more effective if we extend the "bridge" to enable eligible families to take home additional donor milk upon discharge, Main Line Health created Donor to Door: Bridge Milk for Home to provide free milk for those who are still in need of supplementation for a day or two at home after leaving the hospital. This take-home extension that impacts newborns across all the Main Line Health nurseries is entirely reliant on community support, and costs approximately $60,000 a year.
Thank you for considering a gift to Donor to Door: Bridge Milk for Home. We are excited about the opportunity to send families and babies home with a little bit of extra nutritional support.
