  • You can receive income for life in exchange for a gift?
  • Giving appreciated property, like stocks or real estate, costs less than giving the equivalent amount in cash?
  • Some assets can benefit you more if you give them away?
  • Some gifts cost nothing now, but leave a legacy later?
  • Some gifts allow you to pass more on to your heirs and save on taxes?

Community fundraiser

When community members, independent from hospital staff, choose to hold an event to raise funds for Bryn Mawr Hospital that is a Community Fundraiser. When a group or an individual decides to coordinate a Community Fundraiser, they take on the logistics, planning and execution of an event that benefits the hospital. A fundraising event can be a BBQ, athletic race, service project, etc., or simply requesting monetary donations be sent to Bryn Mawr Hospital in lieu of gifts to mark personal milestones like anniversaries, retirements or birthdays.

Community Fundraisers can also be the donation of goods, such as pre-approved toys or art supplies for the Pediatric Unit. If you would like to donate items to Bryn Mawr Hospital, please contact us in advance to be certain the hospital is able to accept the items you would like to contribute.

Before beginning a Community Fundraiser the event coordinator should contact Dana Walter, development representative with the Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation, at WalterD@mlhs.org or 484.337.8177, to learn more about this unique way of supporting Bryn Mawr Hospital.
