Devon Horse Show and Country Fair returns!
The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, one of the most beloved and exciting traditions in the region, returns this spring! Running from Thursday, May 26, 2022 to Sunday, June 5, 2022, the oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed show in North America is ready to welcome fans, supporters, competitors, and volunteers through its gates.
This premier event offers something for the whole family, including top riders and horses in a range of competitions and demonstrations, exhibit viewing, shopping, amusements, and lots of great food. The event draws more than 126,000 spectators annually and, since 1919, proceeds from Devon’s Country Fair have benefited Bryn Mawr Hospital (BMH). The donation to the hospital that first year was an impressive $26,000. Devon has gone on to direct more than $18 million to the Hospital over the ensuing 103 years (over $50M in present day value).
Thanks to Devon’s longstanding and generous support, BMH has consistently been at the forefront of healthcare with state-of-the-art technology and highly trained medical professionals who offer both compassion and clinical expertise. Most recently, Devon was one of the first to commit support to BMH’s Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit expansion and relocation with an extraordinary $2 million pledge to help some of the Hospital’s most vulnerable patients. BMH is honored that our extended family at Devon continues to make the health of our community a priority through this cherished partnership.

The sense of community, responsibility, and philanthropy nurtured by Devon’s volunteers is simply exemplary. We are humbled by all that Devon means to the well-being of our region and are proud to share that BMH’s employees play a part in Devon’s other big legacy - volunteerism.

As one of the largest volunteer run efforts in the country, Devon relies on the countless hours donated by members of our community. Each year more than 2,000 volunteers sell, serve, plan and work for Devon. If you, your family or friends have the time, Devon has plenty of volunteer opportunities to choose from including:

Beginning in 1896 as a one-day event designed to encourage local farmers to breed more and better horses for transportation, and to improve the local hunter stock, The Devon Horse Show quickly became the largest outdoor multi-breed horse show in North America, perhaps the world. The Show took a new direction in 1919 when it was decided a Country Fair should be held in conjunction with the horse show and that the event should benefit BMH.
Known as the place “Where Champions Meet,” the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair heralds in their 126th year in 2022 and welcomes all to what will surely be a triumphant and banner year for this much-loved tradition.
