The Family Medicine Residency Program at Bryn Mawr Hospital is fully accredited in the training of family medicine physicians by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The program was established in 1975 and has over four decades of experience training doctors for the practice of family medicine. When our graduates complete training, they have developed a sophisticated level of knowledge, skills and clinical experience, as well as a personal concern for the patient.
Vision
The goal of the Bryn Mawr Family Medicine Residency Program is to educate physicians to become specialists in family medicine. Physicians who assume the responsibility for providing comprehensive, compassionate quality health care for the patient and family.
The Residency Program provides educational experiences and resources so that family physicians can learn to be competent, board-certified, compassionate family doctors.
The family physician, now and in the future, holds a key position in any health care system. By being part of an integrated health care system, our family medicine residents are able to provide comprehensive care to patients, regardless of their age, disease or socioeconomic status. Our residency program thrives on the strengths of the Main Line Health system—shared medical staff, consolidation of resources and a growing practice network.
This rich environment of Main Line Health helps us reach our ultimate goal: to provide competent family physicians to our community. We educate our residents to become proficient at a level of medicine that is state-of-the-art, so that they can practice their specialty "straight from the heart."
Honors and awards
Main Line Health is committed to the highest standards of patient care, education and research. Our commitment has been recognized by our peers and by others throughout the Delaware Valley and across the nation.
