For Kelsey B. it's all about the patients—and the people she works with

Of her five years working at Main Line Health, Kelsey B. can say it's definitely challenging at times, but she can't see herself doing anything else. When she's dealing with the tough stuff, her approach is this: "If you have a feeling that something is wrong, you have to be confident in your assessment skills and have the confidence to arc it up." One of the best parts of working at Main Line Health, she adds, is her colleagues. "I feel supported in that I can always go to and count on my nursing supervisors, nurses from other floors, and my team."

The other is patient care and being at the bedside. As a staff nurse, Kelsey enjoys helping patients get through difficult days and nights. "Even if I can't change what they're going through, just being there to support and comfort them while family is away."

Main Line Health promotes furthering education and offers opportunities for committee involvement, getting certified and providing higher levels of care. Our managers are very good at making individual plans with employees and encouraging staff members to further our development in ways that are beneficial for us.

The harder parts of working at Main Line Health? Working nights is tough, Kelsey concedes, which is why she's had to learn to prioritize sleep over life outside of work and to realize that this is okay. "By being well rested, I can be productive at work and in my personal life."

Outside of work, she loves to sing and if she could live anywhere in the world it would be Walt Disney World.
